Yoga Therapy

Private Yoga Instruction

Michele Klink has over 12 years and 1000-hours of training and hands-on experience in Therapeutic Yoga. Her clients include patients referred by physical and occupational therapists, orthopedic and osteopathic doctors and chiropractors. She also works with athletes, yoga students and those with work-related injuries.

Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach to addressing a full range of musculo-skeletal injuries and limitations.  It is a practice of applying precise alignment in a variety of postures and exercises. Good alignment occurs when the connective tissue is in a specific position and the bones articulate with each other in such a way that provides for maximum range of motion (ROM) with maximum strength and stamina.  Consistent and correct alignment results in noticeable improvements.  Yoga Therapy also addresses not just the body, but also mental, emotional and spiritual health and balance.

Michele's most recent certification is as a Certified Yoga TuneUp® and The Roll Model method I
nstructor.  YTU is a fitness therapy format build around the three P's = pain, posture and performance.  YTU helps to eradicate pain, improve posture and enhance performance through a unique blend of corrective exercises, self massage and Yoga.  By helping to identify and target "body blind spots", areas that are most overused, underused or misused, YTU heals damaged muscle, increases strength and establishes healthy movement patterns to help you live better in your body.

Michele is an active member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and continues her education CE credits to learn the most recent advances in healing and health improvement.

How does a Yoga Therapy session work?

In a one-hour session, learn alignment specific for the body  and any injury or limitations.  After postural observation and instruction,  practice yoga poses with specific, focused alignment.  If needed, body work for muscle relaxation will be applied to help understand how to free body-held stress and tension.  A customized written routine of  6-8 yoga poses, to practice daily, is then provided.

If dealing with a non-body-oriented issue, techniques such as breath, pranayama, meditation, positive psychology and more
will be customized for balance that promotes health and healing.
