YOGA THERAPY

Michele Klink has over 6 years of training and hands on experience in Therapeutic Yoga. Her clients include patients referred by physical and occupational therapists, orthopedic and osteopathic doctors and chiropractors. She also works with athletes, yoga students and those with work-related injuries.

Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach to addressing a full range of musculo-skeletal injuries and limitations.  Yoga Therapy is a practice of applying precise alignment in a variety of postures and exercises. Good alignment occurs when the connective tissue
is in a specific position and the bones articulate with each other in such a way that provides for maximum range of motion (ROM) with maximum strength and stamina.  Consistent and correct alignment results in noticeable improvements.

WHO benefits from Yoga Therapy and Private Yoga Instruction?

Those with injuries or pain due to sports or work-related injuries, including rotator cuff, wrists, low back, knees and/or feet.  
Recommended: Begin with 1 session, continue as needed.


Post physical therapy patients to prevent re-injury and sustain optimal health.

Recommended: Begin with 3 sessions, continue as needed.


Beginners
to yoga to help learn the basics and feel confident attending public  yoga classes.  Recommended: 3 sessions


Yoga
students to address specific alignment  and to increase core strength, muscle tone and range of motion. Also, to work on specific poses or to advance one's practice to the next level. 
Recommended: 3 sessions or more


Those who would like a customized routine in the comfort of one's own home.   
Recommended: weekly or bi-weekly sessions


Those who would like a customized routine while traveling out of town.

HOW does a Yoga Therapy session work?

 

In a one-hour session, learn alignment specific for the body and any injury or limitations.  After postural observation and instruction,  practice yoga poses with specific, focused alignment.  If needed, light body work will be applied to help understand how to free body-held stress and tension.  A customized written routine of  6-8 yoga poses, to practice daily, is then provided.



PRIVATE YOGA INSTRUCTION for the experienced yoga student:
Recommended:  3 sessions

The first session is focused on lower body alignment.  The second session is focused on upper body alignment.  The third session is follow-up with refinements on alignment and poses. 

In between each session, the student practices instructed alignment in yoga classes, during at-home routine and in daily life activities.

Introduction to Meditation
Learn basic techniques for a home meditation practice.  Instruction includes yoga postures, pranayama (breath expansion) and a variety of techniques to customize your practice.  Establish a routine to quiet the mind and expand heart consciousness.
Recommended: 4 sessions
